About the role:
We seek an experienced Data Architect/Principal Data Engineer with expertise in Databricks and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with another Architect to develop a comprehensive migration plan, engage stakeholders, and address any challenges that arise.
Your key responsibilities will be:- Collaborating with another Architect to design and implement a detailed migration plan.
- Effective communication of the migration plan to stakeholders and securing their support.
- Addressing and resolving any challenges or concerns raised by stakeholders.
- Working on-site in the Netherlands (Amsterdam) for 2-3 days per week, with the possibility of reduced on-site presence in the future.
- Ensuring the migration process aligns with best practices and industry standards.
- Able to start immediately.
- Proven experience with Databricks and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with large-scale data migrations.
- Strong background in data engineering and cloud infrastructure.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Flexibility to travel and work on-site in the Netherlands as needed.
- Familiar with modern cloud-native data stacks.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining Spark applications.
- Fundamental understanding of various Parquet, Delta Lake, and other OTFs file formats.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills and proficiency in communication with non-technical stakeholders.
Work from the European Union region, and a valid work permit are required.
