The Operations team at Javelin manages the logistics, reconciliation, confirmation, and settlement of commodity products. Working with traders, finance, technology, and legal, operations ensure that risk is captured accurately and the lifecycle of the trade is supported effectively and thoroughly from inception through to settlement.

We are looking for an Operations Analyst/Associate to join the team in Krakow. This role will complement the responsibilities of the other team members and work as part of the global team to achieve the Operation Group's objectives.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Trade validation using internal systems.
  • Drafting and reviewing sale and purchase agreements, as well as framework agreements for a variety of bulk commodity products.
  • Liaising with the Trading/Legal/Logistics team in London and other hubs to resolve queries and discrepancies and implement solutions.
  • Maintenance and management of internal database.
  • Reconciliation of settlements.
  • Invoice validation and review using in-house account payable software.
  • Documenting processes and procedures, ensuring timely and accurate records are kept for audit requirements.
  • Agreeing schedules of commodities deliveries.
  • Arranging inland deliveries within CEE with truck and rail carriers.
  • Creating shipping/rail/truck documents.
  • Building relationships with clients/ports/transport providers.

Requirements

  • Fluent in both Polish and English.
  • Self-motivated, proactive candidate with 2+ years' experience in Commodities Operations, preferably with experience across commodities.
  • A strong work ethic is required to help drive the team forward and push for technology-based solutions.
  • Demonstrable skills coordinating with a range of internal stakeholders to deliver smooth daily operational processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across locations, with a focused interaction with London headquarters.
  • Ability to monitor and implement controls within trading risk systems.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms.
  • Knowledge of logistics and testing standards.
  • Knowledge of trade finance and the commodity banking process preferred.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload across time zones and judge priority and urgency of requests and issues.
  • Ability to deliver difficult messages to both client and colleagues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
