Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing and documenting ingestions from existing sources.
  • Collaborating with Principal Data Designer to design and document ingestions from new sources.
  • Working with stakeholders and data platform teams to create designs that meet or exceed requirements, comply with principles, and deliver accurate and timely supporting documentation.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest data design principles and contributing to improvements to ways of working and documentation templates.
  • Peer reviewing colleagues' designs to ensure they meet requirements and principles.

As an Enterprise Data Architect, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from designing and implementing data warehouse solutions to developing data visualizations and reports. You will be responsible for understanding and documenting enterprise data warehouse data designs, identifying data sources, detailing how source data is ingested into the data platform, and defining data mappings and data models.

This position requires strong technical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in an agile development process. You will engage with key stakeholders inside and outside of your area to make design decisions and support the wider design team by asking questions and offering suggestions during design review sessions.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Data modelling for enterprise data warehouses.
  • Ability to work constructively with team and wider network to achieve deliverables.
  • Gathering and documenting information as guided.
  • Understanding deliverables and focusing on what is important.
  • Experience with querying and transforming data using complex SQL, conducting basic data profiling and analysis, modelling data into simple facts and dimensions, and identifying basic data quality rules.
