Key Responsibilities

The Vendor Manager is essential in guaranteeing high-quality service delivery to our clients by fostering strong partnerships with vendors and facilitating productive discussions across various departments. This role focuses on enhancing performance, cost-effectiveness, and mutual satisfaction. Essentially, the Vendor Manager serves as a liaison between vendors and the organization, aiming to elevate overall service standards. Responsibilities include overseeing daily vendor performance, ensuring timely service delivery, managing capacity allocation, volume distribution, and addressing ad hoc requests.

The Vendor Manager will:

Oversee daily vendor performance, ensuring timely service delivery and appropriate capacity and volume allocation in line with procurement guidelines. Collaborate with execution teams to align vendor assignments with the overarching procurement strategy. Analyze execution cycles to ensure that required capacity is consistently met on a daily basis. Develop improvement strategies when vendors do not meet delivery expectations or capacity requirements. Manage and nurture key supplier relationships, ensuring that commitments to vendors are fulfilled. Create and maintain relevant KPIs and dashboards, presenting and reviewing them with vendors and stakeholders. Identify recurring service challenges and work with vendors to resolve them effectively. Act as a liaison between operations, procurement, and finance departments for critical commercial decisions. Facilitate the onboarding of new vendors, ensuring compliance with all necessary requirements. Serve as an internal and external escalation point, taking ownership of problem resolution. Develop, standardize, and optimize procedures to foster constructive relationships among stakeholders involved in the inland process. Secure ad-hoc quotes and capacity for physical inland products as needed. Actively participate in the Vendor Management community within NEC & EUR.
