About the Role

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead the development of eDrive systems, including eMotors and gearboxes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers across Europe to design, simulate, develop, and validate advanced mechanical components and systems for electric drive units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Lead, guide, and develop teams of mechanical development engineers in the development of eDrive systems, encompassing eMotors, gearboxes, and their mechanical integration together with Inverter in Europe.
  • Technical Oversight: Implement BorgWarner PDP (Product Development Process) and Engineering Development Framework (EDF). Work with your team on continuous improvement of our processes, methods, and tools and keeping a lean and efficient structure.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Develop an open and collaborative team culture and ensure global strong cooperation with our mechanical engineering teams at other technical centres globally and other disciplines.
  • Innovation and Problem Solving: Drive innovation in mechanical design to enhance the performance and efficiency of eDrive systems.
  • Quality and Compliance: Ensure that designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in mechanical design and development within the automotive or related industry. Proven experience in leading technical organizations for at least 3 years.
  • Management skills: Excellent management skills. Strong ability to assess and mitigate product and organizational risks.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
