We are seeking an experienced Data Protection Leader to join our team, responsible for leading the implementation and management of our data privacy program across various geographies.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have 7+ years of professional experience in international data protection law, with expertise in GDPR compliance and experience managing data incidents and breaches. They will work closely with senior functional leaders to mobilize resources and implement the data privacy program, enabling business growth while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive GDPR compliance efforts and milestones, building a culture of privacy within the organization.
  • Act as the deputy of the Associate General Counsel, EU DPO, HST & CPS Europe/ECEMEA, implementing the Baxter Privacy Office program and serving as the first point of contact for WE and Swiss geographies.
  • Provide expert legal advice and counsel to Baxter on privacy matters, leveraging business and industry information to enable business growth.
  • Partner closely with country leaders and teams to identify and resolve privacy-related issues.
  • Create awareness and perform trainings on data protection, following the Baxter Privacy Office Curriculum and functional needs.
  • Manage data subject requests, conduct or support internal investigations of allegations of potential data breaches, and draft and negotiate Data Processing Agreements with vendors and customers.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving laws, regulations, guidance, and directives impacting Baxter internationally.

Requirements

  • Law degree from an EU jurisdiction and bar membership.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in international data protection law, with expertise in GDPR compliance and experience managing data incidents and breaches.
  • Healthcare experience required, with medical device and international experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record in working with others to address complex privacy issues and navigate ambiguous legal landscapes.
  • Strong ability to work independently, coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders, and communicate effectively with business leaders.
  • Fluency in English, with ability to work in other EU languages considered a plus.
