Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer II to support our Global Network operations team. The successful candidate will collaborate with a growing managed services organization, contributing to the development of managed service skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting: Assist with troubleshooting complex network issues by identifying root causes and implementing resolutions.
  • Issue Resolution: Collaborate with telecommunication providers and vendors to resolve circuit-related and other technical issues.
  • Document Management: Maintain accurate network documentation and contribute to network project planning and execution.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior engineers, helping them develop their skills and address customer inquiries.

Requirements:

  • Certifications: Advantageous to hold certifications like Cisco CCNP.
  • Networking Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of network architecture, routing protocols, security measures, and high-level network design principles.
  • Complex Problem-Solving: Skilled in resolving intricate network problems through in-depth analysis and advanced diagnostics.
  • Layer 2 and 3 Experience: 5+ years of experience with Layer 2 Switching protocols and 5+ years of experience with Layer 3 Routing protocols.
  • Vendor Knowledge: Experienced in working with prominent networking vendors, including Cisco, HP, Aruba, Juniper, and Arista.
  • Enterprise Networks: Comprehension of Enterprise Network Design, infrastructure, operational, and IT managed service (ITSM) best practices.
  • Technical Competence: In-depth knowledge of technologies such as RSTP/MSTP, VLAN, VTP, ARP, OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, UDP, NDP, VxLAN, VRRP, EtherChannel in a global enterprise environment.
  • Protocol Familiarity: Familiarity with application protocols such as SNMP, telnet, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, DHCP, DHCPv6, DNS, 802.1x, and IPsec.
  • Wi-Fi Expertise: Significant experience with Wi-Fi design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Equipment Configuration: Capability to configure and troubleshoot routing and switching equipment.
  • Linux Operating System: Proficient in Linux, with scripting experience being desirable.
  • Dual Stack Experience: Familiarity with IPv4 and IPv6 in a dual stack setup is a bonus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Holding a Cisco CCIE, Juniper JNCIE, or specialized certification in network security or cloud networking is advantageous.
  • Scripting Skills: Experience with Python and Bash scripting.
  • Global Experience: Experience working internationally within enterprise environments.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on details, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly when interacting with customers.
  • Mentoring Abilities: Desire to mentor junior engineers, fostering their growth and professional development.
