Job Summary

:

As a Project Field Engineer at Bechtel Corporation, you will be responsible for leading the organization, process/procedures, and direction of Construction Field Engineering and support staff. You will report directly to the Construction Site Manager and be responsible for all Field Engineering activities for the project.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement field engineering processes and procedures to ensure project, code, and corporate compliance.

Collaborate with the Construction Site Manager to develop the Field Engineering organizational structure.

Evaluate and develop personnel for field engineering and support staff.

Ensure that field engineering and support staff are developing skill sets that align with Bechtel's and the individual's career goals.

Develop and implement procedures that align with Bechtel functional requirements and coordinate functional approvals.

Generate site-specific procedures to ensure construction operations conform to engineering design and specifications and unique customer or regulatory requirements.

Develop and implement the Construction Work Package process to ensure timely deliverables to field personnel.

Develop and implement the Work Control program in coordination with document control.

Oversee the Subcontract Technical Representative program to ensure technical aspects of all construction managed subcontracts.

Coordinate with Supervision to plan construction activities for immediate and long-range planning.

Develop and implement the Field Engineering inspection process.

Establish an Engineering/Field Engineering working relationship and lines of communication.

Develop and implement the constructability program within the construction function and coordinate constructability issues with Engineering.

Manage the Construction Field Change/Non-Conformance process and perform trend analysis.

Develop and implement the Quantity Reporting program within the Construction function.

Develop and support the construction automation plan and its associated programs.

Oversee the Issues Management team for Construction and develop corrective action plans and Condition Reports.

Coordinate and manage the field engineering turnover process and deliverables with the Start Up group.

Manage the Construction Action Item List to support/resolve constraints that impact field activities and CWPs.

Implement and maintain the project welding control program and project survey control program.

Assist the Construction Site Manager in developing construction execution plans.

Prepare and execute site mobilization and demobilization plans and direct the design of temporary construction facilities.

Requirements:

Requires a bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.

Self-starter, highly motivated, requiring little supervision, and able to work well in a team environment.

Good working knowledge of current design codes and standards.

Highly proficient in work process development and implementation.

Highly proficient in planning breakdown structure for and development of construction work packages.

Proficient in cost and schedule analysis.

Proficient in subcontract administration.

Knowledge of all phases of construction operations relating to field activities, of all engineering disciplines, and jobsite management.

Direct hire execution experience on projects of US$300M or greater.

Prior experience with Nuclear Power plants.

Prior EU construction experience as a Project Field Engineer Manager or Construction Field Engineer Manager.

Prior Earned Value Management experience and training.
