Senior Financial Accountant with German Language Skills

For our client, we are seeking a highly skilled GL Accountant with German to support our activities in general accounting, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures. The successful candidate will collaborate with 6 clinics in Austria and/or 7 in Switzerland, reporting to the Accounting Lead and being part of the CHAPO (Switzerland, Austria, and Poland) cluster Finance Team.

The job location is Warsaw, but we are open to hiring a person who is open to working almost fully remotely (1-2 times a month in office is a maximum & there will be remote work indicated in your contract of employment).

The scope of responsibilities includes:

  • Booking of ongoing business transactions
  • Support of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting book closures
  • Reconciliation of accounts
  • Close cooperation with the controlling department in the preparation of periodic financial reports
  • Close cooperation with the Group Accounting team
  • Adherence to AniCura Group Accounting standards
  • Monitoring of local market (Austria and/or Switzerland) accounting GAAPs changes
  • Building a strong work relationship with local operation teams (clinic Heads) – being the first line of support in local accounting cases/questions
  • Supporting financial transformation projects and the Finance Department's development

The requirements for this position include:

  • Proven experience in accounting (preferably in RtR area)
  • Experience with the accounting period closing process for the distributed data structures
  • Good knowledge of Austrian and/or Swiss accounting GAAPs
  • Fluency in German language is a must (daily communication with the German speaking stakeholders)
  • Communicative level of English (B1-B2)
  • Oracle system user skills
  • MS Office (especially Excel) user skills
  • An empathetic personality with excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills, used to work in a matrix organization
  • Comfort in a high-energy, fast-paced environment with shifting demands and able to effectively prioritize between competing tasks
  • Having strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks/ projects simultaneously and meet short-term operational deadlines
