We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our team at Allegro.

About the Role

  • As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for leading cross-domain projects in the Marketing and Advertising areas.
  • You will support key technological decisions for the Marketing Area, co-determining the direction of its development.
  • You will spot and exploit synergies between technical solutions used by teams inside the Marketing Area and within other areas.
  • You will build technology partnerships with vendors and integrate externally built projects into the Allegro technology ecosystem.
  • You will mentor engineering teams, support and develop technical talents, foster a high-performance engineering culture and knowledge sharing.
  • You will raise technological standards, code quality, and best practices across both the Marketing Area and the entire Allegro platform.
  • You will be an advocate for the best development practices such as clean code, automation, reusability, modularity, design patterns and TDD.

Requirements

  • Excellent problem-solving mindset, with the ability to handle complex challenges effectively.
  • The ability to take a broad view of a problem while being able to focus on its key issues.
  • Expertise in designing and developing microservice architectures involving multiple teams and domains.
  • Experience with designing scalable cloud applications and distributed systems including high-volume & high-availability projects.
  • Knowledge of GCP or other public cloud environments like Azure or AWS.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to explain complex technical issues to non-tech stakeholders.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in software development using JVM technologies.
  • Experience in internet marketing (ads, performance marketing) is a plus.

Why Allegro
