Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to join our team at Ivy Tech Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality instruction and assessment in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
  • Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
  • Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
  • Ensure knowledge of and implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction and meet faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction.

Early Childhood Education Program Standard:

A qualified faculty member in early childhood education meets the program standard through:

1. Possesses an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in early childhood education, child development;

or

2. Possesses an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in family and consumer sciences, elementary education, special needs, curriculum and instruction, or administration with 18 graduate credit hours in courses closely related to early childhood education and development, with academic preparation appropriate to the course and/or specialty being taught;

and

3. Possesses one of the following: a) Professional certification in the field; or b) Two years of directly related work experience in the field of early childhood - birth through age 8.

ECED 105 Course Standard

A qualified faculty member teaching ECED 105 meets the Early Childhood Education (ECED) program standard and holds a CDA Professional Development Specialist credential
