Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lead PHP Developer to join our team at ClearCourse. As a senior software engineer, you will work on PHP/Symfony projects, leading and mentoring other engineering team members, and applying software development best practices within the team.

The successful candidate will oversee process improvements and develop policies, procedures, methods, and tools in support of delivery. You will also lead daily development team huddles for discussions on developments/progress and engage in technical discussions and collaborative problem-solving to devise innovative solutions for complex data handling and visualization issues.

You will collaborate directly with the Frontend team to ensure coherent implementation and functionality and assist front-end team delivery of React front-end by liaising and coordinating back-end API work accordingly. Additionally, you will manage tasks and sprints in JIRA, ensuring timely project progress.

Desirable Attributes and Experience
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with a proven track record of delivering high-quality products in PHP/Symfony.
  • Experience of modern engineering principles, practices, and processes such as SOLID, OOP, MVC, REST, CD/CI, TDD, BDD, and DDD.
  • Experience of agile methodology (SCRUM, KANBAN) and version control software (git/bitbucket).
  • Experience in automated testing tools and frameworks (PHPUnit) and solid understanding of relational database technologies (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Oracle).
  • Experience in a leadership position responsible for owning the direction of a software development team.
