About the JobThis is a unique opportunity to join our in-house legal team based in Morristown, New Jersey, and work remotely from Anchorage, Alaska. As an attorney with experience in construction law and contract negotiation, you will provide legal advice and assistance primarily to Colas' operating infrastructure subsidiaries throughout Alaska.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of public and private heavy highway construction contracts, as well as claims and contract management. Experience in negotiating, drafting, and reviewing teaming agreements, joint venture agreements, design services agreements, and other commercial and transactional agreements related to infrastructure operations is highly desirable.
We are looking for a strategic business partner who can provide accurate and timely legal and business advice to multiple operating infrastructure companies in Alaska. If you have a strong background in construction law and contract negotiation, we encourage you to apply.
Main Responsibilities- Negotiate, draft, and review heavy highway construction contracts, including public (AKDOT and federal) and private contracts, purchase orders, and material sales and supply agreements.
- Manage and negotiate construction claims; general construction contract management.
- Experience with alternative project delivery methods, including design-build, progressive design-build, CMGC; preparation and negotiation of teaming agreements, joint venture agreements, design services agreements.
- Draft aggregate extraction/supply agreements, throughput agreements, and various other commercial and transactional agreements.
- Oversee/manage legal matters related to company real property assets, including leasing, mineral rights agreements, operational and environmental compliance, land use, and permitting issues.
