Job Description

Dynatrace Documentation plays a vital role in driving user adoption of our unified observability, security, and business platform. Our team develops the Documentation and enables other Dynatracers to contribute to it.

As a Senior Technical Writer, you'll be responsible for creating high-quality documentation for several product areas, working closely with development teams to deliver the documentation on time.

  • You'll craft concise, clear, and accurate product explanations that can be easily understood by non-technical users.
  • You'll serve as an editor for fellow technical writers and documentation contributors.
  • You'll be the first adopter of Dynatrace, using your technical knowledge to navigate complex use cases and document them in an easy-to-consume way.
  • You'll be a user advocate, connecting the perspectives of developers and users together.
  • You'll provide guidance for documentation contributors to enable them to work autonomously.
  • You'll share your knowledge and expertise and mentor fellow technical writers.
  • You'll work in the docs-as-code process using a markdown-based static site, VSCode, and Git.
  • You'll work within a truly global R&D team with a presence across multiple continents.
Qualifications
  • You'll have a technical degree paired with writing experience or a linguistic degree paired with technology-related experience.
  • You'll have 6+ years of experience in technical communication, with a focus on creating user documentation for software.
  • You'll have experience in editing other writer's content.
  • You'll have an understanding of different content types in the documentation and their purpose.
  • You'll have a superb level of English.
  • You'll be able to produce clear, precise, and conversational copy for the web.
  • You'll be able to learn quickly and drive to learn constantly.
  • You'll be able to understand both developers and users of software.
  • You'll have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You'll have experience in agile software development environments.
  • You'll be proficient in Markdown, Git, Jira, and PowerShell.
