Job Overview
The role of Senior Backup Engineer at Standard Chartered Bank is a critical position that requires the development of global key strategy and standards for Backup and Recovery. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and planning the bank's backup and recovery estate, ensuring it meets the required levels of security and resilience standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Solution Design: Develop and implement effective solutions for data protection, ensuring alignment with the bank's storage strategic goals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Security Technology Services to ensure compliance with bank security standards.
  • RFPs and Evaluations: Coordinate the development and evaluation of RFPs/RFIs, ensuring products meet bank IT standards.
  • Awareness and Understanding: Stay informed about the wider business environment and market trends.
  • High Availability: Ensure Storage architecture design has high availability to remain stable and performing optimally.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure Storage Engineering complies with Technology Services processes within the Architecture Framework.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain the highest levels of ownership, accountability, and service within the team.
  • Review and Enforcement: Review, uphold, and enforce all Bank technical, security, quality, and engineering standards on supported products.
  • ITSM Processes: Ensure compliance with Bank ITSM processes such as Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Manage Storage product lifecycle, features, bugs, CVEs, and security standards.
  • Risk Identification: Proactively identify risks and issues or react to them in a timely manner to minimize any potential impact.
