Purpose and Impact on Organization:
The Senior Store Manager plays a crucial role in shaping the adidas brand and consumer experience by managing a high-volume, strategically positioned Brand Center store. This individual leads the Store Management Team to provide an outstanding consumer experience while maintaining high operational and brand standards.
Driving Brand Experience:
- Amplify the adidas brand with every decision and action
- Ensure event and visual merchandising execution at the highest standards
- Fuel the brand passion within the team
- Lead and embody the adidas brand with retail skills
Driving Store Profitability:
- Meet or exceed store sales and profit targets
- Manage all resources within the store to provide consumers with a leading shopping experience
- Drive the proper execution of established policies, procedures, initiatives, and directives
Key Accountabilities:
- Deliver an exceptional consumer experience tailored to the Brand Center store through outstanding execution of global brand and retail operational standards
- Foster a positive culture in the store and enable the Store Management team to create a consumer-centered, authentic, active culture
- Understand the concept and strategic importance of the Brand Center store and think broadly for adidas when setting the direction of the store and creating brand advocacy
- Develop and lead the execution of a visionary, well-thought-out business plan for the Brand Center
- Provide input and feedback to different departments and global teams to achieve the Brand Center ambition
- Support and coach the leadership team and associates to drive sales and meet key performance indicators, while managing expenses to increase profitability and drive brand advocacy
- Partner with Assistant Store Manager(s) to hire, develop, and build a high-performing team
- Hold P&L accountability for the Brand Center store
- Foster a collaborative working relationship with both the global and the Market organizations
- Collaborate with Line Manager to develop clear action plans for the Brand Center and thrive to achieve objectives, deliverables, and timelines of the plan
- Provide constructive feedback to Line Manager on success and feasibility of current and new programs, other initiatives, and specific store needs
- Communicate and provide visibility on product needs/other operational needs and opportunities to the Line Manager
- Act as a brand ambassador and partner within the local community to promote the brand and store awareness
- Ensure consistent implementation of all global programs, initiatives, and strategies within the Brand Center
- Leverage global and local tools to lead the performance management, succession, recruiting, hiring, and development activities, resulting in high employee engagement
- Promote a high-performance culture in the Brand Center by setting clear expectations, holding employees accountable, creating an effective and efficient work environment, and setting goals that focus the team on key drivers that impact success
- Take clear accountability for training and execution in store in all areas, including business, operations, sales/customer service, and visual merchandising, while also coordinating with Regional Trainer to ensure all employees are trained in Retail Standards
- Ensure timely completion of all recordkeeping associated with applicants, new hires, payroll, performance appraisals, salary reviews, counseling, disciplinary actions, and terminations
- Produce results under a variety of situations/market conditions and overcome barriers to the company's success in compliance with corporate guidelines
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong ability to understand and use financial data to make decisions and influence outcomes
- Ability to use critical thinking and creative ways to solve problems
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints
- Ability to make recommendations that effectively resolve problems by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, and procedures
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills

- Comfortable with working in a matrix organization
- Thrives under ambiguity; open to change and acts as an advocate for the 'new'
- Open to feedback; able to keep composure in stressful situations
- Passion for the adidas brand and for sport
- Proficient with MS applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other computer software (Internet, POS Systems, etc)
Qualifications:
(Minimum required education and experience):
- Demonstrated business management skills; P&L ownership (min 5 M£) or comparable business operations experience
- 5-7 years of fashion retail management experience with a leading flagship store of a global brand
- Leadership role in a branded organization (creating a brand experience)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant market experience with a high street leader
- Successful leadership of a team (20+ people)
- English & Polish fluent (speaking, reading, writing) and fluency in another language is highly desirable
