What You Will Be Doing at Arrow Services Sp.z.o.o.

  1. You will maintain and be responsible for custom databases for business data, including ETL processes and automation from various sources, as well as in-store generated/collected data.
  2. You will work with open-source centric workflows using Python, MariaDB, C, RUST, Envoy, Nginx, Mosquitto, Podman, RHEL, etc.
  3. You will keep track of system health and performance and be on alert for any production disruptions.
  4. You will provide support and answer questions from peers/internal customers, being the go-to matter expert on the data you maintain used by other BI developers and analysts.
  5. You will listen to requirements from peers/internal customers and build solutions to meet these requirements, building on the system.
  6. You will work with custom container services on RHEL/Linux and handle the configuration of the same, including problem-solving when they arise.
  7. You will maintain, support, and configure associated web tools connected to the system.
  8. You will be responsible for the infrastructure that the machines run on, being the contact person for IT for regular patching and supporting those operations planned at non-disruptive hours.
  9. You will perform lighter maintenance development in mainly Python. Depending on time available and personal strive, your role could also go into actively contributing to functional core development of the system.

What We Are Looking For.

  1. Experience with Python running service roles and async/eventloop-based programming.
  2. Experience with deeper SQL code (primarily using MariaDB and TeraData flavors).
  3. Experience with database optimizations and tuning, including all it entails.
  4. Experience with working with medium to large datasets (> 100M rows).
  5. Experience with encryption, ensuring code is written in a secure manner, zero cleartext deployment configurations, handling TLS certificates, etc.
  6. Documented experience and passion for programming and compute problem-solving.
  7. Experience using Git in your workflows and following a versioning scheme.
  8. Experience with splitting up workloads on multicore environments.
  9. A track record of a service mindset and ability to listen to requirements and communicate on various levels of audiences, from developers to management and wide range of cultures.
  10. Ability to plan your own work without detailed supervision, timely deliver, and take own responsibility, prioritize multiple ongoing projects, and follow up/report out.
  11. Fluent spoken and written English.

Nice to Have.

  1. Web development experience, Python Twisted Matrix, PHP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, WebSockets, PWA, etc.
  2. C and RUST experience (high-performance custom extensions are written in C and move to RUST ahead).
  3. Experience with Vectorized data computation libraries, including ML; e.g., NumPy/Pandas/SciKit/Tensorflow/Torch.
  4. Experience with Networking and Linux configurations.
  5. Experience with using various REST APIs for remote systems (Microsoft services such as PowerBI APIs, MSGraph/0365, etc).
  6. Experience with Podman (or Docker) with simpler Kubernetes single pod-level defined containered builds.
  7. Experience with SELinux.
  8. Experience using GCC building software from source and troubleshooting it.
