Career Opportunities: Project Logistics Specialist

As part of the EMEA Projects Team you will build close collaboration with Project Logistics Teams in Europe, Branch Operations across the regional and worldwide offices. You will also build relationships with key existing and prospective customers to grow our business.

As a vital member of our Ground Freight Project Logistics team, you will play a crucial role in driving profitability for OIA through the generation of gross profit (GP) via spot quotes and tenders. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the seamless execution of operations, fostering trust with both internal stakeholders and external customers. Your contribution will be instrumental in strengthening our presence and success in Ground Freight Project Logistics across Europe. Location is flexible within Europe where we have an office presence.

You will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities

• Personally manage responses to Ground Freight Project Logistics RFQs from current and prospective customers, as assigned by senior team members.
• Ensure all secured projects are executed in full compliance with the company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Guarantee that all quotes and shipments are accurately recorded in CargoWise One, including correct classification as Project Cargo.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing vendors by sourcing, initiating, and attending regular meetings with trucking companies across Europe.
• Participate in customer visits as directed by your Line Manager to strengthen relationships and provide technical support to designated accounts.
• Oversee operational activities related to Special Projects and other customer bookings to ensure all service requirements are met.
• Lead negotiations on bids and project inquiries with vendors, customers, and agents, ensuring competitive and profitable outcomes.
• Ensure all project operations are executed in line with company processes and procedures as defined by your Line Manager.
• Operate both project and general cargo shipments as required by customer needs.
• Provide prompt and accurate support for quotation requests to maintain service excellence.

Strategic and Commercial Responsibilities

• Drive increased gross profit (GP) contribution from Ground Freight Project Logistics, with a focus on heavy haulage operations across Europe.
• Contribute to the growth of global GP from Project Logistics through effective execution and commercial strategy.
• Act as a subject-matter expert in Ground Freight Project Logistics, supporting the Sales Team in designing tailored logistics solutions for customers.
• Partner with Branch Managers, Business Development, and Key Account Managers to expand the Ground Freight Project Logistics product across the European region.
• Build new customer relationships through technical expertise, while maintaining and enhancing existing partnerships involving project logistics needs.
• Support the sourcing and development of logistics solutions for RFQs from both existing and targeted OIA customers.
• Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance and ownership of processes when handling project cargo.
• Proactively seek, bid for, and secure new business opportunities in ground freight project logistics, including over-sized and heavy-lift shipments to project and manufacturing sites across Europe.

• Subject-matter expert in Project Logistics.
• Excellent and proactive communication & negotiation skills [in general air/ocean operations, with related project cargo forwarding experience].
