Senior BI Business Analyst

The Senior BI Business Analyst is a key member of the Data & Analytics team, responsible for transforming complex business requirements into actionable insights and robust BI solutions. This role partners with business stakeholders and technical teams to design, develop, and optimize data models, dashboards, and reporting tools that drive data-informed decision-making across the organization. The Senior BI Business Analyst also plays a strategic role in advancing self-service analytics, data governance, and the overall BI strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with business leaders and subject matter experts to understand data and reporting needs

• Translate business questions and objectives into clear BI requirements and specifications

• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and process mapping sessions to capture detailed requirements

• BI Solution Design & Development

• Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using leading BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)

• Develop and optimize data models, data marts, and analytical solutions to support business processes and KPIs

• Work with data engineers to ensure data pipelines, data warehouses, and integration processes meet BI needs

• Data Analysis & Insight Generation

• Analyse large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights for business improvement

• Perform ad-hoc data analysis to answer key business questions and support strategic initiatives

• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics relevant to business goals

• Data Quality & Governance

• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across BI solutions

• Support data governance initiatives by defining and implementing data standards, policies, and best practices

• Project Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead or support BI projects from ideation to delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines

• Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts and BI team members

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including IT, Finance, Operations, and external vendors

• Continuous Improvement & Self-Service Analytics

• Promote and enable self-service analytics capabilities for business users

• Identify and drive process improvements in BI delivery, reporting, and data management

• Documentation & Training

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for BI solutions, data models, and business processes

• Deliver training and support to end-users to maximize adoption of BI tools and solutions

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analysis, or a related analytics role, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity
• Advanced skills in BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik), SQL, and data modeling
• Experience with data warehousing platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Databricks, Google BigQuery, Snowflake) is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of data visualization best practices and dashboard design
• Experience in requirements gathering, stakeholder management, and project leadership
• Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and data privacy concepts
