Lead DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on
Lead DevOps Engineer
with expertise in GitLab administration to manage a migration project from Azure to Azure.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth transition of repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and related configurations while maintaining optimal GitLab performance and user management.

This position offers a hybrid model, with 3 days per week working from the EPAM Warsaw office.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain GitLab instances, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting
• Plan and execute the migration of repositories, CI/CD pipelines, user accounts, and configurations between GitLab instances
• Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enhance build, test, and deployment automation
• Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls for security and compliance
• Oversee repository creation, branching strategies, and merge processes to ensure efficient code management
• Monitor GitLab performance, analyze bottlenecks, and implement improvements for enhanced efficiency
• Integrate GitLab with tools and platforms such as Jira, Jenkins, and Docker to streamline workflows
• Provide technical support and manage Levels 1 and 2 service desk tickets for GitLab-related issues
• Create and maintain documentation for processes, configurations, migrations, and best practices

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in GitLab administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Expertise in CI/CD pipeline design, repository management, and Git branching strategies
• Proficiency in integrating GitLab with tools such as Jira, Jenkins, and Docker
• Ability to manage Azure-related GitLab resources and facilitate migrations within Azure environments
• Working knowledge of Terraform, Bash, or Python
• Experience in administering user accounts, permissions, and access controls
• Capability to provide technical guidance and manage service desk tickets
