Overview

Our client, a global SAP-driven organization, is planning to establish a
new SAP Center of Excellence (CoE)
in Poland. They are looking for a
senior SAP CoE Lead / Manager (freelance)
to guide the early setup and strategy of the center.

The engagement will begin as a
short-term advisory role (1–2 months)
focused on research, planning, and strategic recommendations. If the collaboration is successful, the role will naturally
extend into the execution phase
- overseeing the setup, team buildout, and ongoing CoE operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research & Strategy Phase (Initial Engagement):
  • Conduct detailed market research to identify the best location in Poland for the CoE (based on SAP talent availability, cost, infrastructure, and competition).
  • Advise on the CoE setup model - shared service, delivery hub, or hybrid model.
  • Create a
    CoE setup roadmap
    , including operating model, structure, timelines, and hiring plan.
  • Present findings and recommendations directly to executive leadership.
  • Execution & Expansion Phase (Extension Opportunity):
  • Lead the
    operational setup
    of the CoE once approved.
  • Define the
    organization structure
    and establish delivery standards and governance.
  • Develop a
    recruitment strategy
    and support in hiring key SAP experts.
  • Build strong relationships with local SAP networks, universities, and consulting ecosystems.
  • Ensure alignment between the new CoE and global SAP programs and delivery standards.

Ideal Profile

  • 10+ years
    of SAP leadership, delivery management, or CoE/Shared Service experience.
  • Proven experience in
    building or scaling SAP delivery centers
  • ideally in Europe.
  • Solid understanding of
    SAP enterprise landscapes and delivery models
    .
  • Strong
    strategic thinking
    , analytical, and planning skills.
  • Experience working with executive stakeholders and driving transformation initiatives.
  • Strong network in the
    Polish SAP talent market
    or proven ability to build teams from scratch.
  • Fluent in
    English
    ;
    Polish
    preferred.
