Axpo has been operating in the Polish market for over 20 years now. It employs about 270 people and is one of the largest independent offtakers of green energy. Customers in Poland benefit from tailor-made offers for the purchase and supply of energy and gas based on structured and long-term contracts. Axpo Polska also provides services to more than 25,000 companies from the small and medium-sized enterprises segment and, since April 2020, it has only been offering energy with a certified origin from renewable energy sources. While supporting energy transition in Poland, the Company also implements large-scale photovoltaic projects.

Currently we are looking for: Senior Risk Analyst 

Your responsibilities:

  • Assess counterparties end-to-end using financials, qualitative factors, sector outlook; set collateral/terms and provide clear recommendations.
  • Aggregate exposures; monitor concentrations and correlations; set and track limits; identify early warnings; deliver insightful management information. 
  • Lead cross-functional risk projects (e.g., SME scoring, limit frameworks, process automation). 
  • Partner credibly and collaboratively with Front/Middle/Back Office, Legal/Compliance, and IT/Quant teams. 
  • Design and negotiate risk-mitigating terms tailored to product specifics (e.g., PPAs, balancing services). 
  • Build repeatable analyses and dashboards; interpret model outputs responsibly. 

Our requirements:

  • 3–6 years in credit risk (energy/commodities/financial services) with autonomy and growth mindset.
  • Degree in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, or related; CFA/FRM a plus (or in progress). 
  • Proven expertise in limits, tenors, collateral/guarantees, and structuring credit for varied counterparties/products. 
  • Strategic judgment: align credit decisions with commercial strategy, risk appetite, and portfolio outcomes. 
  • Execution ownership: drive initiatives end-to-end, meet commitments, remove obstacles proactively. 
  • Personal integrity and resilience: uphold risk standards under pressure; act ethically. 
  • Problem-solving and curiosity: investigate root causes, test hypotheses, learn fast; improve data and methods. 
  • Data literacy: comfortable with Python/R/Excel and BI tools; thoughtful use of model outputs. 
  • Fluency in Polish and English.
