About the Role

As Technical Lead, you will drive the design, development, and delivery of highly scalable, transactional API-based solutions, built on AWS and leveraging modern development practices, including full CI/CD automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of robust, high-performance API-based systems focused on online payment integrations
  • Oversee migration from Java-based integrations to Python, ensuring high code quality, scalability, and automation
  • Manage and mentor a cross-functional team of developers (Java, Python), QA, and Business Analysts within a self-organizing Agile environment
  • Collaborate closely with an Architect, Project Manager, and other stakeholders to align technical delivery with business goals
  • Design and build CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Git, Jenkins (or similar), and integrate with cloud-native workflows
  • Ensure the team follows best practices in Python development, including code maintainability, testing, and cloud integration (AWS)
  • Develop, test, and debug APIs for cloud integration with external systems and services
  • Make architectural decisions related to microservices, Kubernetes, and high-volume transactional systems
  • Suggest AWS architecture components and solutions based on project needs
  • Monitor performance and proactively address scalability and reliability challenges

Requirements

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience in both Python and Java, with the ability to lead and review code
  • Proven track record designing and building transaction-heavy APIs (10–12 TPS or higher)
  • Experience with AWS cloud services at a high architectural level
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture and Kubernetes
  • Skilled in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, or similar
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing and ensuring system reliability
  • Background in online payments or financial transaction systems is a strong plus

Leadership & Communication

  • Proven experience in leading software development teams
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills – ability to coordinate with architects, PMs, and stakeholders
  • Agile mindset and experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Ability to mentor and upskill junior and mid-level engineers

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in telecom or with carrier billing platforms
  • Familiarity with the Google GSP ecosystem
  • Knowledge of adapter pattern and API gateway integrations
  • Certifications in AWS or Kubernetes
