Team / Role Overview
Citi provides settlement, custody and asset servicing solutions to investor & intermediary clients through its Global Custodian (ICSD) and its global network of sub custodians (Domestic Custodians - CSDs). The Custody Asset Servicing Event Capture team focuses on delivering worldwide Corporate Event announcement from ICSD and CSDs to clients in timely and quality manner. The Event Capture team is seeking a strong Subject Matter Expert in the EMEA region focusing specifically on Mandatory with Options corporate actions who can work within the global Asset Servicing structure, ensuring it meets its goals of supporting the Domestic Custody EMEA product, focusing on the quality driven delivery of event capture service and giving and executing ideas to make the process risk resilient and globally standardized.
Working closely with operational readiness, technology, risk and other operational partners in Custody chain, will give you an opportunity to establish own Network in Custody, see how the big scale changes are being implemented across different localizations and allow to take part in strategic business initiatives.
What you will do:
The Subject Matter Expert will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Operational Expertise
- Taking information from golden sources and apply to operating systems.
- Monitoring and handling exceptions basing on experience and knowledge.
- Acting at a right time in line with operational notes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational and technical issues that require deep domain expertise.
Strategic Guidance & Thought Leadership:
- Serve as the primary authority and go-to resource for in-depth knowledge in Corporate Action Event Capture area.
- Provide technical direction and expert support to operational readiness teams, management, and other stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of technological upgrades within the processing systems to proactively recommend their adoption where beneficial.
- Participate in UAT testing, analysis of received evidence and providing sign offs for technological upgrade.
Knowledge Transfer:
- Act as a trainer to junior and mid-level operational staff, fostering skill development and elevating the overall market and technical competency of the team.
- Develop and deliver operational and technical training, workshops, and documentation to disseminate knowledge across the organization.
- Establish and maintain best practices, standards, and guidelines for the specified domain.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including internal clients, product management, operational readiness, and business units, to ensure successful process execution.
- Represent the organization as a domain expert in internal and external forums.
Risk Management & Quality Assurance:
- Identify potential operational risks and challenges.
- Ensure that all solutions and processes comply with relevant regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
What we'll need from you:
- Strong financial instruments background with (Corporate Action Asset Servicing experience preferable)
- Proven operational experience
- Background in operating in multiple operating systems
- Ability to analyse processes and identify inherent risks
- Good inter-personal and communications skills
- Both a strong team player plus self-starter
- Creative and resourceful problem solving
- Proven process oversight
- Project management and implementation skills are nice to have

- Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
