Role Overview

The Senior Data Governance Engineer will be responsible for the technical implementation, scaling, and integration of data governance tooling across LSEG's Data & Analytics division. This individual will lead technical aspects of
Collibra configuration
,
workflow design
, and
data governance automation
, ensuring governance practices are deeply embedded within LSEG's data ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and enhance the
    Collibra platform
    – configuration, customization, and integration with other enterprise systems.
  • Design and implement
    governance workflows
    and processes (e.g., via
    JIRA integration
    ).
  • Develop and maintain
    API integrations
    or scripts to connect governance tools with metadata sources and data pipelines.
  • Partner with data stewards, architects, and engineers to implement
    governance policies
    and
    metadata standards
    .
  • Build and maintain
    governance metrics, dashboards, and data quality reports
    .
  • Act as a subject matter expert for governance tooling, advising on architecture and best practices.
  • Drive the adoption of governance principles across data domains, supporting compliance and trust initiatives.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to governance capability development across the organization.

Skills & Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience in
    data governance, metadata management, or data engineering
    .
  • Strong technical experience with
    Collibra
    (configuration, workflow design, APIs).
  • Proficiency with
    scripting/coding
    (e.g., Python, SQL, or Java) for automation and integration.
  • Experience designing and managing
    JIRA workflows
    or similar task automation processes.
  • Solid understanding of
    data management principles
    ,
    metadata standards
    , and
    governance frameworks
    .
  • Experience working in
    large, complex data environments
    , ideally within the
    financial or technology sector
    .
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical teams.
