DevOps Engineer - Analytical Library Maintenance and Optimisation

Our client, a leading global financial institution, is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join their versatile quant team in Krakow, Poland. This contract role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and optimisation of analytical libraries and pipelines while working with cutting-edge technologies.

Position Overview

As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the quant team by maintaining cross-platform analytical libraries, optimising Apache Beam pipelines, and improving the setup of Docker images. Your expertise in automation, Docker, CMake, Jenkins, Python, and Cloud technologies will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation and efficiency of the team's workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cross-platform (Ubuntu, Redhat, Windows) C++ analytical libraries, including dependencies and debugging
  • Support non-prod Jenkins with analytics tools
  • Improve the setup of Apache Beam pipelines (mostly Python, some Java) and optimise Docker images
  • Assist with Cloud Cost optimisation and Code Profiling
  • Collaborate with the quant team to provide technical support and guidance

Requirements

  • Strong experience in automation, Docker, CMake, Jenkins, Python, and any Cloud platform
  • Understanding of various numerical libraries, distributed computation, and technology limitations (preferred)
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
