ABAP Technical Lead for S/4HANA Cloud

Join a pivotal, long-term program at the heart of Hilti's global business transformation. We are on a strategic, multi-year journey to migrate all our Market Organizations worldwide to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, with a clear roadmap extending to 2030.

This critical initiative is foundational to standardizing our core business processes, driving efficiency, and enabling future innovation across the company. Our approach is centered on leveraging the latest SAP cloud technologies, including the Business Technology Platform (BTP), while strictly adhering to "Clean Core" principles to build a sustainable and agile enterprise landscape.

You will become a key member of the core technical leadership team responsible for steering this transformation. Working in close partnership with another technical lead and collaborating directly with SAP's implementation teams, your role will be to provide the architectural vision and technical governance. This is a unique opportunity to focus on high-level solution design and strategy, shaping the future of Hilti's global enterprise systems for the next decade.

Requirements
Must have skills:

• ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP)
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA Cloud extensibility options (both in-app and side-by-side)
• Core Data Services (CDS) views
• OData services
• Cloud Application Programming (CAP) model using and BAS.
• Understanding of clean core principles

Good to have skills:

• SAP Fiori/UI5 development
• Basic Knowledge of DevSecOps in BTP
• Familiarity with SAP Integration Suite (e.g., Cloud Integration, API Management) and SAP Event Mesh

Job responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical authority to define and design robust, scalable, and sustainable solutions on the SAP S/4HANA Cloud and BTP platforms.
• Lead technical discussions within the agile team, providing expert guidance to Product Owners and Business Analysts to translate functional requirements into clear technical specifications.
• Establish and enforce development guidelines and best practices, ensuring all solutions align with the overall enterprise architecture and adhere to "Clean Core" principles.
• Collaborate closely with the existing technical lead, developers, and implementation partners (SAP) to ensure consistency, clarity, and quality in all technical deliverables.
• Review and approve technical designs and specifications that will be implemented by a dedicated development team, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
• Serve as a key technical representative for the company, confidently engaging with technically strong counterparts and external partners in complex architectural discussions.
• Support and influence the long-term project roadmap by providing insights on technical feasibility, risk, and opportunities for innovation.
