Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced
Data & Test Automation Engineer
with strong expertise in Python, PySpark, SQL, and modern data testing frameworks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure Data Services and will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, quality, and performance of large-scale data pipelines and distributed systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to design, automate, and enhance testing processes across the data ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automated test suites for big data pipelines, distributed systems, and ETL/ELT workflows.
  • Work extensively with
    Azure Data Services
    including
    Databricks
    ,
    Azure Data Factory
    , and
    Storage Accounts
    .
  • Implement robust CI/CD pipelines using
    Azure DevOps
    or
    Jenkins
    to support automation and continuous quality.
  • Conduct data quality checks, validation, reconciliation, and performance testing on large-scale datasets.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance, metadata standards, and quality frameworks.
  • Collaborate closely with data engineering, DevOps, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Monitor test execution, identify issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive improvements.
  • Contribute to Agile/Scrum ceremonies and ensure timely delivery of testing outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 6–8 years
    of experience in data engineering, test automation, or related roles.
  • Strong proficiency in
    Python
    ,
    PySpark
    , and
    SQL
    for developing test logic and validating data.
  • Deep understanding of
    test automation frameworks
    and their application in data ecosystems.
  • Hands-on experience with
    Azure Data Services

  • Experience testing
    big data pipelines
    and workflows in distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as
