Site Reliability Engineer

As a Senior DevOps Engineer/SRE Consultant, you will be part of our captivating journey in delivering Swiss Re's smart and reliable orchestration solution, fully applying your cloud native, microservice-focused skills. Committed to delivering value and creative solutions together with our clients and partners in the enterprise IT space, together with our diverse and motivated team, you will:

• Work closely with the Product Owner and Product Reliability Engineer to ensure the quality and stability of the platform

• Lead and mentor the distributed team of Site Reliability Engineers in various engineering, architecture and security topics

• Develop and enable a culture of SRE/DevOps in our software development, delivery and operational practices.

• Implement and maintain DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines implementation for multiple heterogeneous projects

• Deployment support, and maintenance of performant and cost-efficient Microsoft Azure infrastructure solutions

• Ensure high availability, performance and reliability for hybrid cloud solution

• Integrate observability tools and monitoring solutions

• Drive automation through Infrastructure as Code, Scripting and Configuration Management

• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis

• Manage capacity planning and scaling strategies

• Create technical support documentation, reusable assets, and guidelines for Engineering Team

About You

We are looking forward to your application, particularly when you possess:

• 10+ years' system engineering experience, software development, continuous integration/deployment and in cloud-native ecosystems.
• Passion for sharing knowledge, through interactive sessions as well as documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to focus on details without losing track of the bigger picture.
• Strong experience in:
• Virtualization/containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
• CI/CD pipelines implementation across the full stack (Services, Code, Deployment, Testing & Monitoring) with Azure DevOps tool stack
• Building highly available, distributed and scalable infrastructure, understanding of microservice architecture
• Disaster Recovery and Backup/Restore implementation
• Troubleshoot incidents that span across applications, networking, and systems
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - preferable Terraform and Configuration Management tool such as Ansible
• Automation using scripting with Bash, PowerShell
• Version control and code branching strategies using Azure DevOps Repo / Git
• Security in cloud, security scanners (DAST, SAST) and quality checks (AQUA, NexusIQ, Sonarqube).
• Coding skills, where strong experience in Java is preferred, and experience in Golang would be an advantage.
• Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks

Good Experience in:

• SQL (MySQL) and NoSQL (Hazelcast) databases (configuration backup & restoring, performance query optimization)
• Very deep understanding of network - IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, virtual networks
• Experience of computer/network security, authentication and security protocols used, when systems are being integrated. Practice on how these apply in distributed computing systems and/or cloud infrastructures, with a focus on creating failure tolerant systems
• Security and Vulnerability Management
• Virtual Machines configuration and maintenance (Ubuntu)
• Centralized Logging solutions - like Elastic stack, Splunk or others
• Monitoring and Observability solutions - like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog or others
• Agile workflow methodologies like Scrum

Nice to have:

• Azure DevOps certification or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
• Hands-on expertise in open-source integration and orchestration platforms and technologies, such as (open)API definitions, GraphQL, and Web Service topics, as well as the BPMN 2.0 methodology. Our platform uses at its core Camunda Cloud (formerly known as Zeebe) technology, and hence knowledge of this technology would be a plus.
• Excellent oral and written English skills, additional language skills are a plus.
