About You
Are you a experienced accountant looking to grow your expertise and make a difference on projects across the world? Buro Happold is looking to recruit an Senior Accounting Specialist to join our Finance Team at our office in Warsaw.

Your key duties

• Manage all activities related to monthly and annual closings for the German entity.
• Oversee the invoicing process, including issuing and posting sales invoices.
• Verify purchase invoices and travel expenses in line with local tax regulations and internal policies; supervise settlement of employee advances in cooperation with junior accountant.
• Monitor and ensure accurate posting of bank statements.
• Confirm and reconcile balances with contractors and employees.
• Prepare internal reports and summaries for management and clients.
• Coordinate document flow and ensure proper archiving of accounting records.
• Support implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Assist in preparing tax returns and liaising with external auditors.
• Participate in cross-border projects within the finance team.
• Provide training and guidance to junior team members.
• Contribute to internal control reviews and compliance checks.

Your skills and experience
As an experienced Senior Accounting Specialist, it is expected that you would be able to demonstrate:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounting department.
• University degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Independent in handling assigned tasks, with strong collaboration skills for working with teams and business clients.
• Fluent in Polish, very good command of English, German language skills are a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to draw conclusions.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Team-oriented mindset.
