Senior Cloud Native Engineer

We are seeking a
Senior Cloud Native Engineer
to join our Data Science Platform & Reporting team within central IT.

In this role, you will develop and operate resilient platform services in Microsoft Azure, supporting the migration of workloads to the cloud and enabling data scientists and analysts across the organization. You will focus on building scalable tools, APIs, and automated systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness. You will design and maintain core data platform components, develop production-grade data pipelines, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver analytics solutions that meet business needs. Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable software services and APIs forming the central data platform
• Manage the full DevOps lifecycle including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code, and monitoring
• Contribute to the architecture and continuous improvement of the core data platform
• Build robust ETL/ELT data pipelines using modern data engineering techniques
• Support migration of on-premises workloads to Microsoft Azure public cloud
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver reporting and analytics solutions aligned with business requirements
• Automate operational processes to increase platform reliability and efficiency
• Mentor team members and share knowledge on best practices and tools
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving platform issues
• Maintain documentation related to platform services and procedures

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on scalable software services
• Strong background in design patterns and software development best practices
• Proficiency in Java, Python, and SQL programming languages
• Competency in Bash scripting and Linux operating systems
• Hands-on experience in building and maintaining data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
• Expertise in DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Azure cloud platform and services
• Collaborative approach witha product-oriented mindset
• Fluent English communication skills

Nice to have

• Experience with front-end development using TypeScript frameworks such as ReactJS or Angular
