For one of our main clients based in Warsaw, Poland we are looking for a Senior Test Engineer with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience hands-on, willing to work as a freelancer (ideally already set up as a freelancer in a EU member state/country - EU citizen) for an EU intergovernmental agency responsible for supporting EU Member States in coordinating and managing external border security.
The organisation provides strategic guidance, operational support, risk analysis, and cross-border cooperation to ensure safe, lawful, and efficient mobility at Europe's external frontiers.
The role will be performed in Near-Site meaning you must live within 2-hour radius of the Warsaw, Poland premises.
Remote working mode but must be able to go on-site upon request (hence the 2-hour radius).
Start date: 01 January 2026
Are you the perfect match?
Education
- University degree (BSc/MSc) in ICT or specifically Software Engineering
At least 1 certification among:
ISTQB Advanced or an equivalent certification recognized internationally (subject to acceptance as a valid credential by the Contracting Authority) or 3 years' experience in test design above required
Knowledge/Skills
- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle and well versed and practical knowledge of software testing tools
- Expert in designing tests
- Analytical mind, attention to detail and an ability to pick things up quickly
- Presentation of excellent communication and documentation skills
- Experience with testing using Azure Devops Test Plans
- Hands-on experience with coding in one of languages - Python, java script, type script, VBS
- Hands-on experience with Test Automation using Playwright or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with creating SQL queries
- Hands-on experience with testing SharePoint based applications
- Experience in designing, executing and documenting test cases for software systems
- Execution of exploratory test sessions
- Reporting Test results and finding defects
- Interpreting test results, reports on test progress and issues
- Cooperates with analysis, architects, software development and service desk teams
- Reviews project documentation
- Takes test lead role in smaller projects
