We are seeking a dynamic and motivated
International Sales Manager
to join our Global Commercial Team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving Mute's international expansion by identifying and developing new markets, establishing strategic partnerships, and delivering strong early-stage sales performance for our solutions.
What you'll do:
- Identify and prioritise new markets. Analyse market potential, competitive landscape and customer segments to determine which countries or regions offer the greatest opportunities for Mute's modular pods and acoustic solutions.
- Develop and execute entry strategies. Create tailored go‑to‑market plans for each target market. Decide whether to pursue distributor partnerships, direct sales, or hybrid models based on market dynamics and regulatory considerations.
- Establish and manage partner networks. Identify, negotiate and onboard distributors, agents and resellers in new regions. Provide training and support to ensure partners can effectively promote and sell Mute's products.
- Drive initial sales. Build a pipeline of corporate clients, architects and design‑build firms in emerging markets. Conduct business development activities, deliver product presentations and close deals to establish an early revenue stream.
- Coordinate cross‑functional resources. Work with marketing, product management and operations to localise marketing materials, adapt products to local standards, and ensure smooth logistics and after‑sales support.
- Represent Mute at international events. Attend trade fairs, exhibitions and industry conferences in target regions. Host virtual and in‑person webinars and product demonstrations to raise awareness.
- Provide market intelligence and forecasts. Gather insights on customer preferences, competitor activity and regulatory developments. Report on sales performance and make recommendations for investment and resource allocation.
- Lay the groundwork for future teams. As markets mature, collaborate with HR and leadership to recruit and hand over to dedicated local sales teams while ensuring continuity of relationships.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of experience in international sales or business development within the design, furniture, building‑products, or workspace solutions industries.
- Proven track record of successfully entering new markets, establishing distribution networks, and achieving revenue targets in regions without existing infrastructure.
- Strong strategic and analytical mindset; with the ability to assess market potential and develop effective go-to-market strategies.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship‑building skills; comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders across cultures.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, Arabic, Mandarin) is a strong advantage.
- Self‑starter who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys travelling; willingness to spend up to 50% of your time on international business trips.
- Proficient in CRM and project - management tools; experience in collaborating remotely with cross‑functional teams.
Nice to have:
- Background in furniture, workplace design, or building products.
- Experience selling to distributors, architects or corporate end‑users across multiple regions
- Understanding of international trade regulations, certification requirements and logistics.
- Existing network of distributors or clients in emerging markets (e.g., Asia, Latin America, Middle East, Africa).
