We're hiring a hands-on, results‑driven
Senior SRE / DevOps Engineer
(IC with a lead mindset) to own platform reliability, performance, and developer experience at Zing. This is a delivery‑heavy role: migrate from AWS ECS to
EKS
, set up per‑branch testing environments, harden observability and more. You'll mentor and coordinate Junior DevOps and IT Support engineers to split work.

You'll work closely with backend, mobile, and data teams to keep the platform running efficiently, and you'll set crisp, lightweight processes to improve change management, on‑call hygiene, and Jira discipline within your domain.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the CTO and lead to prioritise the SRE backlog, publish weekly status, and keep a tight change log.
• Design and operate an AWS
  EKS
  platform (autoscaling, networking, ingress, secrets, etc)
• Own CI/CD with
  GitHub Actions
  : build, test, deploy, and per‑branch env automation.
• Develop internal tools that will automate routine operations, decreasing time to market. We want developers to be as self-sufficient as possible.
• Maintain reliable platform and databases (PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery) in collaboration with the backend team.
• Own incident readiness: maintain PagerDuty service/alert routing; reduce noise.
• Keep Jira tidy: single Platform/SRE board, clear priorities, weekly status notes, transparent delivery.

Key Initiatives You Own

• ECS → EKS migration
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code
  : complete the migration to
  Terraform
  for AWS/EKS/networking/CI hooks.
• B2B stack enablement
  : prepare infrastructure for a new customer path with clean tenancy boundaries and deploy flows.
• Environments
  : dev, prod, and
  per‑feature testing
  environments to enable independent QA.
• Observability
  : CloudWatch →
  VictoriaLogs
  migration; Grafana dashboards; alerting policy; on‑call readiness.
• Releases
  : support daily/on‑demand releases for backend/web; keep mobile CI runners healthy

We expect that you have

• 5+ years building/operating production
  AWS
  infrastructure at a meaningful scale.
• Hands‑on
  Kubernetes
  (preferably
  EKS
  ) experience: deploying apps, jobs/cron, autoscaling, ingress/egress, security (RBAC, IRSA basics).
• Strong understanding of IaC, specifically
  Terraform
  (modules, workspaces/environments, CI plan/apply gates).
• CI/CD
  with GitHub Actions (AWS and self‑hosted runners, artefacts, automation).
• Good experience setting up
  observability
  and monitoring processes and practices.
• Strong communication skills as the platform owner, also towards business and dev.
• Pragmatic scripting (Bash/Python/Go) to automate repetitive ops.
• Fluent English level

Beneficial skills

• Cost optimisation and migration tactics.
• VictoriaLogs/VictoriaMetrics experience.
• OpenTelemetry basics (traces/metrics/logs) and Grafana Tempo/Jaeger.
• Highly interested in a fast-paced software development environment
