The Role

We're looking for a
CTO / Tech Lead
who shares our love for
nature, exploration, and impactful technology
— someone equally comfortable in curiosity and creation.

You'll join as our
fourth co-founder
, shaping libelo's technical vision and leading the path from prototype to investor-ready platform.

You don't need to have built everything before — but you do need the
ambition, curiosity, and technical range
to build fast, learn deeply, and lead with clarity.

What You'll Build

You'll lead the development of libelo's MVP — merging a designed frontend with a clear architectural blueprint and defined feature roadmap.

Our first milestone (Tier 1–3) is to deliver an
interactive nature map experience
, scalable data model, and AI or community-driven engagement layer.

Key areas of your impact:

• Map-centric data model:
  Shape the architecture powering our dynamic maps, park pages, and layered content.
• Full-stack development:
  Build and integrate the frontend (Flutter) and backend / Python) into a functional MVP.
• Data aggregation:
  Experiment with clean data structures that aggregate park, trail, and species info from open sources.
• AI & LLM integration:
  Explore contextual search, retrieval, and itinerary generation through OpenAI and related tools.
• Scalable backend design:
  Work with CMS (Strapi/Sanity), authentication (Firebase/Auth0), and modular APIs for multi-tier expansion.
• Tech leadership:
  Help define the technical culture, support future hires or collaborators, and maintain standards of quality and simplicity.
• Cloud & infrastructure:
  Deploy on Firebase, AWS, or GCP; set up basic analytics and continuous integration pipelines.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in
  full-stack development
  , or strong backend fundamentals with readiness to grow into full-stack mastery.
• Comfort working with tools such as
  Python or
  ,
  Flutter
  ,
  PostgreSQL / Supabase
  , and
  Mapbox / OSM
  — or the confidence to learn them quickly.
• Curiosity about
  AI integration, data scraping
  , or
  map-based data modeling
  — even if not yet mastered.
• Understanding of
  modern cloud environments
  (Firebase, AWS, or GCP) and web architecture principles.
• Entrepreneurial mindset:
