We have an exciting opportunity to join our Technology team in Krakow, and we're currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer to be a part of the team.

The Senior Data Engineer will play a key leadership role within our product teams, ensuring the delivery of trusted, high-impact data products. This person will guide the team in planning, building, shipping and maintaining solutions that truly serve our customers and stakeholders. The role combines technical leadership, hands-on project delivery and coaching, with full responsibility for the quality, usability, governance and overall success of our data products.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Lead engineering teams in designing, building and delivering trusted, high-impact data products.

• Provide technical leadership through hands-on work, coaching and guiding others across data engineering best practices.

• Develop, operate and optimise robust data pipelines and systems that ingest, cleanse, transform and structure diverse datasets.

• Drive design discussions and architecture sessions, facilitating consensus on the most effective and scalable solutions.

• Ensure coding, infrastructure and operational standards are met, and champion Continuous Delivery and Secure SDLC practices.

• Collaborate with product teams to define and evolve data product standards, governance and quality guidelines.

• Identify opportunities to improve data flows, pipelines and data products, ensuring performance, reliability and operational readiness.

• Maintain clear, up-to-date technical documentation to support system continuity and knowledge sharing across teams.

• Mentor and develop engineers, contribute to knowledge sharing, and support growth of the organisation through hiring and community engagement.

• Advocate for a data-driven culture, helping teams make informed decisions and continually improve how data is leveraged across the business.
  
  

What you will bring to the role:

• Degree in Computer Science or 5+ years of equivalent practical experience.

• Proficient in SQL and Python.

• Experience with Snowflake.

• Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Postgres, DynamoDB).

• Skilled in building and operating ETL/ELT pipelines and working with semi-structured data.

• Proficient in cloud-native DataOps practices (IaC, CI/CD, Git).

• Experience with AWS data services such as EMR, RDS, Redshift, Kinesis, Glue.

• Experience with data modelling and warehousing (Dimensional, Data Vault 2.0) will be an advantage.

• Exposure to large-scale data processing and streaming technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Kafka, Kinesis, Flink, Spark Streaming).

• AWS Associate-level certifications are desirable.
