Job Title: Power Systems Engineer – Transmission

Total Experience Required: 6+ years in Information Technology/Computers/Software

Relevant Experience Required: 5+ experience in developing and delivering Energy Management Systems with a focus on transmission-based Power Systems Applications.

Job Type: Contract

Contract Duration: A minimum duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension up to 18 months or beyond, depending on project requirements.

Workplace Type: Hybrid (at least 3 times a week at office)

Languages Required: English

Visa/Work Authorization Status: Candidates must hold a valid work permit or visa to work in Poland

Work Location: Warsaw, Poland

  1. Must be currently based in Poland or
  2. Willing to relocate to Poland from anywhere within Europe or the UK
  3. Candidates outside Europe/UK unfortunately cannot be considered

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and customise Advanced Energy Management System solutions for transmission network operations.
  • Work on core Power Systems applications including Load Flow, Contingency Analysis and Power Factor management.
  • Develop and maintain software using C, Java or related programming languages for both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Collaborate with Electric Utilities, ISOs and TSOs on solution design, integration, testing, tuning and delivery.
  • Analyse and resolve technical issues, ensuring effective implementation and customer satisfaction while adhering to compliance and change control processes.

Essential Skills

  • Proven expertise in AEMS and transmission-focused power systems applications.
  • Hands-on development experience with C and Java.
  • Strong exposure to Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Customer-facing experience in utility environments supporting system deployment and issue resolution.

Optional Skills

  • Experience with e-terra platforms or related Energy Management System technologies.
  • Familiarity with multi-vendor integration in grid operations.
