Description
We are expanding our existing portfolio at GlobalLogic focused on MedTech, Healthcare, and Artificial Intelligence. The team will work with several newly onboarded clients to deliver innovative solutions in surgical robotics and intelligent medical tools.

Key projects include:

– Enhancing the capabilities of existing robotic systems used in surgery, including expanding automation coverage.

– Developing a next-generation tool for hip arthroscopy to support the treatment of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), combining precision, real-time insights, and improved usability.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape a new engineering direction from the ground up, lead impactful projects, and drive innovation in cutting-edge healthcare technologies.

Requirements
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic leader with a proven track record in technical project management. The ideal candidate will possess:

– A minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience, including at least 3-4 years in a management capacity. Proven experience leading large tems and overseeing multiple projects/accounts concurrently is essential.

– Capability to define strategic goals, translate them into actionable roadmaps, and ensure their execution. Track record of delivering high-impact technology solutions in regulated or mission-critical environments.

– Demonstrated experience in building and/or scaling technology departments or practices — ideally in the MedTech, healthcare, or life sciences domain. Ability to define vision, structure teams, and establish effective operational frameworks.

– A strong academic foundation, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, is highly desirable. In-depth technical domain knowledge, preferably in Machine Learning, Cloud or Automation, paired with a solid understanding of key technologies relevant to these domains.

– A robust grasp of modern Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies, management principles, and techniques. Demonstrated ability in establishing and adapting project processes, identifying and mitigating risks, understanding financial implications, and swiftly addressing challenges.

– Strong understanding of medical software development, healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FDA, MDR), data privacy, and integration with medical hardware or healthcare IT systems will be highly advantageous is huge advantage.

– Familiarity with NDA/MSA/SOW legal frameworks and practical experience in drafting these documents is required.

– Strong experience in pre-sales activities with a keen interest in advancing in this area, ability to pitch ideas, work on proposals, and win client trust. Ability to act as a trusted advisor to clients, identify and shape opportunities, contribute to go-to-market strategies, and participate in RFI/RFP responses in the medical domain.

– Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset — you're someone who takes initiative, proposes new directions, and pushes projects forward. Willingness to represent the department and company in industry events, contribute to internal innovation efforts, and build a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

– The role demands a high degree of autonomy and versatility. A strong focus on delivering results. A commitment to fulfilling obligations and the willingness to take initiative are crucial.

– Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills are essential. Advanced proficiency in English for business and technical contexts is required. Knowledge of Japanese language or any previous experience in collaborating with Japanese clients will significantly enhance your candidacy.

– The capability and readiness to undertake business travel is a huge advantage of your candidacy.

Job responsibilities

Engineering Leader who will be responsible for program development on one hand and supporting the day-to-day project planning and execution on the other. This position will include driving technical leadership, project planning and management reporting, as well as business development.

– Help to define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the new MedTech engineering department in alignment with company goals and market opportunities. Represent the MedTech practice internally and externally, becoming a thought leader and trusted advisor to clients and partners.

– Build and lead a high-performing cross-functional team, establishing organizational structure, delivery frameworks, and technical standards for the new domain. Oversee end-to-end program delivery, ensuring high-quality execution, timely delivery, and measurable outcomes across multiple complex engagements.

– Shaping and driving project and product strategy alongside senior leadership and clients, oversee project planning and execution, aligning with strategic objectives and maintaining operational efficiency.

– Supporting business development by contributing technical expertise to aid business growth initiatives. Develop and uphold solutions that align with the company's roadmap and stakeholder requirements.

– Identifying and cultivating new business opportunities, including involvement in pre-sales, proposals, and building long-term client partnerships. Supporting the creation of prototypes and MVPs to validate new ideas and generate business value.

– Acting as the primary contact for senior client stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical strategy.

– Managing multiple engagements, demonstrating adeptness in multitasking. Work with the Product Manager on product development, focusing on backlog refinement and risk analysis. Manage resources and dependencies effectively, ensuring smooth project execution and performance tracking.

– Handling team management and HR functions, encompassing goal setting, development planning, and HR-related responsibilities. Recruit, grow, and retain top engineering talent. Set clear performance goals, oversee development plans, and support career progression for team members.

– Driving internal improvements, knowledge sharing, and mentoring less experienced managers or engineers. Establish and continuously improve SDLC processes, delivery methodologies, and governance models.
