Lead Data Engineer – Onsite in Gdańsk or Kraków (5 days/week)

Rate: 210 PLN per day

We are seeking a highly skilled
Lead Data Engineer
to join our team and drive the implementation of advanced data solutions within a cutting-edge investment intelligence platform. This role is fully onsite
Monday–Friday
in either
Gdańsk or Kraków
due to the collaborative and sensitive nature of the work.

Key Responsibilities

Data Integration & Management

  • Identify and integrate structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data sources.
  • Implement
    RBAC
    , logical data models, compliance practices, and data lineage standards.
  • Document business transformations and define data quality rules and approaches.
  • Build and maintain a detailed
    data catalog
    , registering assets with metadata focused on sensitivity and security.

Design Implementation

  • Translate and deliver the architectural blueprint of the Data Factory across acquisition, preparation, and consumption layers.
  • Ensure strong data management and data quality to enable automated investment workflows and AI-driven analytics.
  • Apply data sharding concepts to support scalability.
  • Implement a
    Neo4j-based Knowledge Graph
    as the core data layer for investment intelligence.
  • Enable full investment decision traceability by linking research, strategies, and portfolio actions into a unified lineage graph.

Advanced Data Solutions

  • Develop and maintain a
    multi-dimensional asset ontology
    for flexible categorization and cross-dimensional analysis.
  • Integrate
    temporal versioning
    to support time-aware queries and historical context preservation.
  • Incorporate
    GraphRAG
    to transform unstructured documents into queryable, attributed graph entities.

Security & Access Control

  • Implement
    property-based access control
    ensuring secure multi-tenant visibility and query-level protection.
  • Oversee real-time ingestion pipelines for structured, unstructured, and operational data.

Data Architecture & Governance

  • Lead the implementation of scalable data warehousing solutions using
    Snowflake
    .
  • Define and develop data quality and governance frameworks ensuring platform-wide integrity and compliance.
  • Drive development and ongoing maintenance of a fully featured data catalog with metadata and security considerations.

Requirements

Technical Expertise

  • Strong proficiency in Snowflake and Airflow – absolutely essential.
  • Deep understanding of
    GraphRAG
    and
    graph data structures
    .
  • Solid background in data architecture and data design, ideally with exposure to market data sources.

AI & Integration

  • Experience working within AI-assisted and AI-driven architectures.
  • Ability to mentor EPAM and client teams on
    Cypher
    , graph technologies, and RAG traversal patterns.

Additional Skills

  • AWS experience is a plus.

Work Arrangement

  • Must be onsite 5 days per week
    in either
    Gdańsk
    or
    Kraków
    —no remote or hybrid options.
