As a
BSW SoC Senior Software Architect
, you will be part of the Base Software (BSW) Architecture team responsible for designing the next generation of High-Performance Computers (HPCs) and Zonal Control Units (ZCUs) based on automotive System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms. You will define the software architecture, interfaces, and integration strategy for Linux/QNX/Adaptive AUTOSAR–based ECUs deployed across the Stellantis software platform.

Responsibilities

• Define the BSW architecture and requirements for SoC-based ECUs, focusing on Linux/QNX POSIX OS, Adaptive AUTOSAR, hypervisors, virtualization, IPC, middleware, and platform services.
• Architect and specify low-level SoC drivers, BSP components, device trees, and hardware-near frameworks for SoC peripherals (PCIe, Ethernet, I2C/SPI, DMA, GPU/VPU, UART, USB).
• Design system start-up flows, multi-stage bootloaders, secure boot, power/thermal management, and fail-safe recovery strategies for HPC/ZCU platforms.
• Define inter-VM communication strategies, hypervisor configurations, scheduling models, resource partitioning, and isolation mechanisms.
• Collaborate with hardware architects on SoC selection, memory maps, safety islands, security modules (HSM/TPM), and performance constraints.
• Lead integration of middleware components (Some/IP, DDS, IPC frameworks, logging/monitoring) ensuring consistency across the SoC stack.
• Ensure traceability and alignment between system requirements, BSW architecture, Adaptive AUTOSAR service design, and OS-level components.
• Support validation teams in defining test strategies for performance, boot robustness, inter-process communication, and functional safety behavior at platform level.
• Drive ASPICE- and ISO 26262-compliant architecture work products, including software architecture documents, interface specifications, and platform design descriptions.
• Participate in cross-domain discussions to ensure seamless interaction between SoC platforms, MCU ECUs, cloud-connected services, and vehicle domain controllers.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software architecture on SoC-based automotive platforms.
• Strong expertise in Linux/QNX OS architecture, POSIX APIs, BSP development, and virtualization frameworks.
• Experience with Adaptive AUTOSAR, service-oriented communication, and execution management.
• Deep knowledge of SoC architectures (Qualcomm, Renesas R-Car, TI Jacinto, Nvidia, NXP S32G).
• Proven experience with hypervisors (QNX Hypervisor, Jailhouse, Xen, or similar) and VM isolation.
• Strong understanding of multi-core scheduling, inter-process communication, and memory management.
• Solid background in device driver design, bootloaders, and secure boot principles.
• Experience with requirement management tools such as IBM DOORS Next Generation (DNG).
• Proficiency in UML modeling (Rhapsody mandatory; PREEvision is a plus).
• Strong knowledge of automotive communication protocols (Ethernet TSN, SOME/IP, CAN gatewaying).
• Experience working in ASPICE-aligned development environments.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in a global multicultural organization.
