Mercer is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Warsaw office: 

Junior Tax and Economic Research Analyst

What can you expect?

Tax and Economic Research team is part of Global Mobility department providing data for the international companies sending their employees abroad. The purpose of this position is to research personal tax information on government sites and other tax resources in order to provide the client a tool to estimate hypothetical taxes in a chosen country as well as the description of main tax rules. Above that we are providing analysis on the spendable portion of income as well as spending patterns of households based on the data gathered from national statistical offices.

We will count on you to:

  • Research Personal Income Tax data, update it in Excel to reflect the rules, change formulas in case of bigger tax changes

  • Update Word reports describing personal tax system

  • Adjust/create Excel models to produce reports and data sets

  • Participate in the delivery of multiple products per year

  • Ensure high level of service and client satisfaction

  • Search for improvement opportunities and change the process for our team and Mobility teams
     

What you need to have:

  • Min. 1 year of working experience in process driven organization

  • Very strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to draw conclusions from large amounts of data

  • Excellent attention to details

  • Fluent written and spoken English

  • Proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, Word) and strong general computer literacy
     

What makes you stand out:

  • Professional experience in the area of international taxation or involving data / statistical analysis

  • Knowledge of Personal Income Taxation systems in different countries

  • MA or BA university degree (faculty of Economics, Mathematics and/or Statistics)

  • Fluency in other major language, i.e. French, Spanish, Russian
