Job Description
Engage proactively with finance stakeholders to understand and address their perspectives, feedback, and opportunitiesCollaborate with various teams to provide input and gain oversight on proposals and projects that may impact the finance teamProvide advice on queries related to finance team operations, policies, processes, and plansActively promote understanding of differences in behaviors and norms across locationsWork closely with key points of contact in the finance function to understand their requirements and offer support and guidance for performance improvementServe as a point of escalation for local and subject matter queriesAct as a finance function ambassador within the organizationParticipate in reviews related to processes, teams, the organization, and model designTake responsibility for the life cycle of Finance Team MembersPromote adherence to organizational values and foster company culture within the teamChampion collaboration across teams and functions, and encourage innovative thinking and continuous improvementCollaborate with Business Teams and HR to drive initiatives related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and corporate social responsibilitySupport talent development within the finance team by providing feedback and championing Performance and Career Development principlesMentor direct reports to enhance their operational skills, oversee training and developmentEnsure top performers have access to stretch development opportunitiesDevelop individual objectives aligned with finance function and organizational objectives and manage against themFoster a culture of trust and empowerment to maximize cooperation and exchange of ideas and experiencesAdjust team structure as needed to ensure the right level of seniority, retention, and cost managementAssume accountability and responsibility for the finance function within the organizationBenchmark quality and productivityManage, measure, report on SLAs/KPIs, improve, and automate processesSet clear and measurable goals to enhance operational performanceElevate organizational brand by delivering excellent performance results
The Successful Applicant
Over 10 years of successful management in a shared service center, specifically in Finance & Accounting operations within a world-class organizationHolds a diploma in Finance and Accounting and possesses professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, MBA, or equivalentProven experience in managing teams of 40+, particularly in professional services environmentsProven track record of effectively overseeing and improving shared service operationsExperience in smoothly transitioning services, ensuring minimal disruptions and optimal efficiencyDemonstrated ability in achieving performance improvements in shared services through strategic initiativesProficient in end-to-end process management, ensuring comprehensive oversight of operational workflowsExcellent report writing and presentation skills to effectively communicate complex ideasHighly competent in using Microsoft desktop productivity toolsDemonstrable strong business and commercial acumenExperience in strategic and tactical planning and executionAbility to think strategically and provide valuable advice on complex mattersFluent in English (C1 level), with proficiency in other languages considered a benefitSkilled in managing people and resources to achieve desired resultsDesire to work in a service-oriented environment, with a deep understanding of customer-centric organizationsStrong influencing skills at all levels, inspiring confidence in proposalsInclusive team player with a collaborative style, sensitive to team dynamics and stakeholder needsGood communicator at all levels within the organization
