Are comfortable working with databases in private (Oracle DBaaS) and public cloud environments (Azure PostgreSQL), and eager to expand your expertise in cloud-based database solutions.Demonstrating expertise with Oracle database features like Data Pump, RMAN, and experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting.A proven track record of working with monitoring and alerting solutions (e.g., ELK, Grafana, Prometheus).Scripting experience with one or more scripting languages or automation solutions (Ansible, Bash, Python, or PowerShell) to automate routine database tasks.Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and an understanding of system reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance.Your responsibilities:
Support the full development life cycle for our database environments, which include 97+ databases, from refining user stories to monitoring software in production.Support the migration of databases from Oracle to PostgreSQL in cloud environments, while being open to exploring and implementing other database technologies as needed.Collaborate closely with other squads and consumers, ensuring that the solutions you deliver are scalable, future-proof, and meet the needs of the business.Continuously improve database processes through automation, helping to optimize performance and reliability.Stay updated with the latest technologies and database solutions, always seeking opportunities for innovation.About the role:
Are you an experienced Database Administrator with a passion for working with multiple database technologies? At ING, we're looking for a DBA with a deep understanding of database administration and a willingness to learn and adapt to various database systems. Whether you’re working on PostgreSQL in the cloud or traditional Oracle environments, this role gives you the flexibility to dive into new technologies and apply your skills across our complex and evolving database landscape.
While experience in PostgreSQL is preferred, we understand that many database administrators have broad experience across a range of systems. This role is ideal for those who enjoy learning new stacks, following application development needs, and migrating between technologies as required.
