From talented creatives to tech innovators and more, come join us as we embark on the next exciting chapter.Position OverviewThe focal point of this role within the Record to Report Accounting (RTR) team in Warsaw is to provide top-notch accounting services for Warner Bros. Discovery entities, EMEA Networks stream. This role ensures precise reporting of financial data to key stakeholders in line with US GAAP. Key responsibilities include overseeing operational activities, conducting reconciliations and analysis, handling certain transaction processes, all while applying SOX controls to meet daily and periodic quality standards. The collaboration within the team should lead to accurate and punctual month-end closure and provision of financial insights for crucial stakeholders within the Organization. As the team reports to RTR Director, they collectively function as a cohesive unit.The RTR team falls under the EMEA Accounting Controllership Team, which takes full charge of various countries within the Networks segment in the region, including UK, Germany, France, Poland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and more.Main Responsibilities
  • Leading a team of multiple Accountants/Senior Accountants to deliver quality services to the Organization, offering hands-on support during daily operations for effective decision-making and career growth
  • Actively managing or conducting period-end closing and operational tasks following US GAAP/WBD Policies and SOX standards
  • Performing regular Account Reconciliations to ensure the completeness and accuracy of Balance Sheet for selected EMEA entities and group of accounts such as Accruals, Prepayments, Payroll
  • Driving continuous improvement, implementing process changes, and best practices to enhance efficiency
  • Addressing and resolving issues promptly when required
  • Supporting both internal and external financial as well as compliance Audits, including SOX
  • Undertaking ad hoc analysis of various financial data types as per Director's requests
  • Evaluating the accounting treatment for complex transactions
  • Collaborating with other Teams like PTP, OTC, Treasury, FP&A, Controllership, FDs, VAT, Payroll, and other Record to Report team members to propose enhancements
Prerequisites & Background
  • Hold a Master's degree in accounting or finance with at least 6-10 years of accounting experience in an international setting (preferably in RTR / GL / Accounting Team)
  • Possess BIG4 background coupled with knowledge of the media/entertainment industry, deemed advantageous
  • Demonstrate comprehension of IFRS and/or US GAAP along with a practical end-to-end understanding regarding the reporting impact of accounted transactions
  • Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English
  • Prior experience in team management
  • Skilled in MS Office applications, especially Excel
  • Hand-on experience with enterprise information systems, (SAP) is a strong advantage and highly preferred
  • Results-driven with a keen eye for detail, accuracy, timeliness, multi-tasking ability, task prioritization, and strong organizational skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude, issue identification, adept at presenting analysis findings and their implications. Ability to frame issues and communicate discoveries
  • Proven talent in tackling new challenges, spotting areas for improvement, outlining action plans to management, and ensuring implementation
  • Motivated by demanding, dynamic environments. Can work effectively under pressure and adapt to urgent and shifting scenarios
  • Team player with high integrity, possessing strong interpersonal skills, capable of fostering positive work relationships across the organization
  • Completion of ACCA, CIMA, or PIBR qualifications is a significant advantage
