Department OverviewDepartment Description
Our teams develop mission critical software for handling emergency (911, 112) calls, videos and text messages. This platform connects our on-premise call handling solution with our leading edge CommandCentral call handling cloud product. The teams are responsible for end-to-end software development including: design, implementation, testing, delivery and maintenance. We work in well balanced agile teams with a full range of software development experience and the embedded mindset of DevOps culture and continuous delivery approach.

Job Description

Working as Staff Engineer using modern software development techniques to produce world-class public safety software - Command Central Call Handling. Our products allow customers to respond effectively in mission-critical operating environments. We're looking for a highly motivated Engineering Manager to lead one of our scrum teams in building highly resilient, Cloud-based services (Java, Angular, RUST, AWS, Azure) that truly makes a difference

Responsibilities and expectations

  • Builds and maintains high high-performing team
  • Supports individuals' development through feedback, coaching, and mentoring in day-to-day work
  • E2E ownership for the team commitments and results
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Leads and sets direction and priorities for a scrum team
  • Track records in terms of building efficient teams and growing talents
  • Has a broad understanding of the problems of our customers from business and technical perspectives to lead the team to develop E2E elegant solutions
  • Provides timely feedback and alternative solutions to technical problems
  • Grows the team's technical expertise
  • Provides updates to the leadership team on the team's progress, risks, and issues based on data
  • A self-driven, energetic, highly innovative person with a positive attitude
  • Effectively collaborates with technical leaders and stakeholders in a multi-team environment
  • Demonstrates flexibility and resilience in the face of changing priorities and requirements

Basic Requirements

What we are expecting from you:

  • Experience as a leader from the technical and organizational point of view. Focus not only on daily activities but ability to look beyond helping to organize work and planning for the team. Engagement in complex tasks and defining, and maintaining architecture for the team. Ability to work without supervision from other members of the team. Ability to make a strong impact on the team as a technical leader, as well as impact on the product and processes beyond the immediate team.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Java technologies
  • Practical knowledge of microservices and REST API
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math or related fields
  • English language skills allowing for efficient communication with our peers and customers in North America
  • Hybrid work mode from Krakow

Experience with the following technologies:

  • Cloud experience with AWS or Azure
  • Automated testing experience
  • RabbitMQ/AMQ experience
  • Observability and monitoring experience
  • Understanding of the following protocols
  • HTTP / REST
