New Technical Center - Electrification in Krakow

At BorgWarner, we design and manufacture the systems that define the way the world moves forward. BorgWarner's aspiration for Krakow is to become a major technological center with 250 employees by 2026. Products and solutions range from existing portfolio, but go far beyond and will include NPIs as well as applications projects.

Job purpose

The Change and Problem Manager role coordinates engineering efforts to work on resolving problems and handling changes to the product throughout its lifecycle in the development of power electronics inverters. This role requires collaboration with Project Leads, Engineering, and frequent customer interface.

Key responsibilities
  1. Maintain communication and develop a good working relationship with the customer/supplier; establish and maintain the communication link in terms of Defects Status between the engineering department at the customer and the BorgWarner project teams.
  2. Implement internal and external change management activities according to BorgWarner process framework.
  3. Define change management activities.
  4. Track change requests towards resolution.
  5. Communicate change request status and close out the requests.
  6. Define project problem/defect management strategy.
  7. Analyze the defects and plan their corrections.
  8. Track the defect resolution.
  9. Classify defects and assign priority and severity to them.
  10. Close out defect reports and analyze problem trends.
  11. Determine impact of the problem to the project.
  12. Support the project team in root cause analysis and lessons learned archive.
What we are looking for

Bachelor's in Electrical, Mechatronics or Software Engineering. Master's degree in related technical field preferred. Automotive industry experience with progressive increases in responsibility, experience in Systems engineering. Good working knowledge of software development lifecycle. Demonstrate experience of working in high pressure environments in previous roles.

Analytical, technical, and statistical skills for root cause analysis, methods and tools (DFMEA, FMEA, FMEDA, 8-D, and FTA analysis). Understanding of power electronics, electric motors and controls would be an advantage. Understanding of effort estimation and work tracking. Experience in A-SPICE. Knowledge of Polarion, JIRA or similar tools. Global Experience working with multiple regions and multiple cultures. Fluency in English is required. German and/or French would be an advantage. Occasional travel, domestic and international.
