Citi Markets Trading Risk & Control (TRC) is searching for an individual experienced in Counterparty Credit Risk Exposure Monitoring, particularly within initiatives focused on enhancing credit risk controls. In this role as an Officer, you will play a crucial part in the newly established Intraday Control Team (ICT) within the 1st Line of Defense (1LoD) Credit Risk and Control function that supports Markets in the Institutional Clients Group.

The Markets TRC team's main goal is to establish and uphold a strong 1LoD by spearheading vital control remediation efforts and processes. The ICT, a global team aligned with the business, is dedicated to offering intraday support to Markets Sales and Trading. Their objective is to prevent end-of-day credit limit breaches, facilitate intraday pre-trade approvals, manage limit excess repair, and ensure minimal disruption to client trading. By collaborating with each business, ICT aims to drive best practices, ensure consistency, and enhance credit risk management, controls, and governance through targeted infrastructure and process improvements.

In this position, the successful candidate will provide regional support as intraday coverage expands and new technology enhancements are implemented to streamline intraday limit excess repair capabilities. They will need a background in controls, counterparty credit risk, and experience collaborating with Markets trading businesses, 2nd Line Credit Risk, and Operations/Technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor intraday counterparty credit exposures against limits. Resolve credit excesses by investigating the situation and collaborating with Markets Sales, Trading, and Credit Risk Managers to find a solution that allows the customer to continue trading within risk appetite.
  • Monitor settlements exceptions for the respective asset class trading locations. Investigate and provide guidance to operations on settlement matters, facilitating credit approvals when necessary.
  • Support MI reporting and conduct credit limit and exposure analytics.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the credit risk management policy regarding credit limit and exposure processing.
  • Contribute to enhancing the intraday credit control environment - infrastructure, processes, and policy.
  • Cultivate and sustain effective relationships with colleagues in other functions within 1LoD and 2LoD.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Undergraduate degree in finance or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in financial services, preferably in corporate credit risk management.
  • Experience in data quality, investigations, or query resolution.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and deliver accurate results with quality service.
  • Excellent communication skills with senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Integrity, sound decision-making, and problem-solving skills in high-pressure, high-volume environments.
