The main goal of this role is to manage efficient and precise fixed asset and project related accounting tasks. We are looking for a finance professional with previous experience in fixed asset accounting, understanding asset-to-retire processes like capitalization, depreciation, and asset disposal/write-offs.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and ensuring:

  • All Fixed Assets are captured for depreciation
  • All relevant costs for Fixed Assets are capitalized
  • All costs are accumulated to the relevant Projects
  • All Fixed Assets have accurate depreciation rates applied
  • All Fixed Assets are valid for depreciation
  • Month-end depreciation runs
  • Closing of sub-ledger of fixed assets in line with month end timelines

Requirements

  • Good accounting skills
  • Preferably prior experience working within Multinational or GBS/ SSC organization
  • Working knowledge and experience of ERP system
  • Understanding of Fixed Assets Accounting Standards and Accounting Principles
  • Proficient with MS office – Excel and PowerPoint
  • Fluent in English – spoken and written
  • Knowledge of accounting fundamentals

Responsibilities

  • Timely completion of Fixed Assets Accounting
  • Process requests for creation of CWIP assets received from the Asset Owners
  • Process Asset Capitalization/Project capitalization requests received from Asset owners
  • Ensure correct computation of capitalization value and 'useful life' as per accounting standards
  • Review project costs submissions at month-end
  • Perform ageing review of CWIP assets periodically and take necessary actions
  • Ensure accuracy in processing fixed asset requests
  • Review changes in the asset master for authenticity and correctness
  • Perform month-end fixed asset depreciation run
  • Support asset revaluation and impairment analysis
