The Opportunity

As the People Leader of a Risk merchant monitoring Team, you'll be guiding the risk assessment process for customers, both Merchants and Partners. Your leadership will ensure efficient processes regarding ongoing due diligence.

The risk assessment carried out by the Merchant monitoring team may be part of periodic reviews or prompted by Event Driven Reviews, both triggering a new risk assessment. The process involves evaluating an existing merchant's account to ensure updated KYC data and analyze any changes impacting the risk level. Focus lies on managing and revising existing KYC information and examining the merchant's behavior and data from an AML perspective.

The role is fresh in the market and involves establishing a new team. Currently, the team comprises four members and is set to expand. For support, there are existing team managers in other markets within the merchant monitoring field. While based in Warsaw, the team will engage with diverse clients and regions. The role encompasses all facets of team management.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, support, and develop the Risk merchant monitoring team, ensuring operational excellence in assessing customer risk
  • Ensure complex cases or those needing specialized expertise are escalated to the Center of Excellence
  • Drive process enhancements and strive for consistent due diligence procedures group-wide
  • Collaborate with other teams and departments for uniform application of ODD policies and risk assessments
  • Manage reporting and track action lists for the team responsibly
  • Foster a collaborative team ethos, ensuring clear role understanding and effective teamwork
  • Stay informed on regulatory updates and industry best practices related to KYC and AML for compliance awareness among team members

  • Demonstrating comprehension of KYC, AML, and other regulatory demands
  • Possessing substantial expertise in finance, business administration, or equivalent
  • Exhibiting full English proficiency, both written and verbal
  • Prior experience in a similar role in the financial services sector, ideally within a payments company or a bank
  • Showcasing exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Displaying drive and enthusiasm for team leadership
