About Enterprise Capabilities

Enterprise Capabilities is a service-led organization within AECOM enabling access to a global talent pool. We are currently recruiting for a Railway Senior Designer with experience in railway design and team leading, to join our busy and expanding experienced Linear Infrastructures team. We are working on stages as early as feasibility studies up to detailed designs on a wide range of projects, either as standalone linear infrastructures team or as part of multidisciplinary teams. Our clients are from the private and public sector and include long term Framework Agreements with numerous Local Authorities together with Design and Build commissions for many major Contractors. Our office has an established track record of successfully delivering railway designs for many years, throughout the USA and Canada. You may have the opportunity to work on some of the most iconic Transportation projects, being part of a diverse and multicultural team. This is a key role within the Europe Global Delivery Center (Poland/Spain) and will report to the Head of Linear Infrastructures team based in Poland.

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Serves as a railway lead engineer on mid- to large size projects supported by EC.
  • Makes day-to-day decisions for a technical team, integrating resources from different EC offices (Poland, Spain, India...)
  • Performing different analysis and design of linear infrastructures projects covering at least the following fields: railway geometric design, P-Way, track design; etc.
  • Categorizes packages of work to be done by EC, elaborates project execution plans and in combination with internal clients defines the delivery strategy, including composition of design teams.
  • Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others. Approves and signs off on work.
  • Accountable for the results of the team and adherence to agreed upon budget for a specific package of work.
  • Delivers effective communication inclusive of internal clients and team members to clarify expectations and requirements.
  • Trains, mentors and evaluates less experienced staff (within the Europe GDC or other Delivery Centers).
Qualifications
  • Proven track record of working on railway designs and collaborating with international and multi-cultural teams (+12 years).
  • Team management experience (+3 years)
  • Proficiency in geometrical design at least one software packages: OpenRail, Rail Track, Civil 3D
  • Proven commitment with Quality Control Policy and Quality Management System.
  • Experience working in the North America region / Australia will be considered favorably.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering.
  • US and/or Australia Professional Engineer license will be considered favorably.
